Steak Sauce #2 - Gnarls Barkley

Depending on your musical taste and the websites/blogs you regularly read, you may have already heard about Gnarls Barkley. I don’t know who reads this so I don’t know who I am talking to. If you haven’t heard of Gnarls Barkley, you probably will soon, so why not here?
Gnarls Barkley is the result of two musical forces coming together for the good of the universe.
You should remember Danger Mouse as the producer that worked diligently to combine The Beatles and Jay-Z on one great album. You may also know him as the producer behind the Gorillaz’s latest release. If those two don’t ring a bell, perhaps you know him for his work with MF DOOM to form Dangerdoom.
Matt Gibbs and other rap enthusiasts know Cee-Lo Green (aka The Soul Machine) for his work with the Goodie Mob and Dungeon Family. He also came out with a solo album back in 2004. He enjoys including elements of funk, jazz, gospel and rock into his songs (and I enjoy listening to them).
According to Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green, Gnarls Barkley is someone else. They will tell you that they just work with the mystery man. Cee-Lo might also tell you that Gnarls owes him 35 bucks. The album, St. Elsewhere, hits record stores May 9th. And yes, Gnarls Barkley will be performing at both Coachella and Lollapalooza.
Don’t be surprised when you see St. Elsewhere pop up on every blog and hipster publication’s “Best of 2006” list. It’s going to happen, and for good reason.

i have heard of gnarls barkley (huuuuge in the UK for the past 2 months or so). i think “crazy” is the only single released at the moment. good stuff.
