On this day in 1920, prohibition began in the United States. Did you know it lasted until 1933? The law actually said the following:
“the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors within, the importation thereof into, or the exportation thereof from the United States and all territory subject to the jurisdiction thereof for beverage purposes”
Note that it doesn’t say you can’t consume it. That’s why erbody was making their home brew back in the day. Let me learn you some things!
