Rockies starter pitches 6 innings and wins with broken leg

DENVER — X-rays taken Wednesday show Rockies pitcher Jason Hirsh suffered a broken leg when he was hit by a line drive in the first inning the night before, even though he stayed in for five more innings and got the victory.

The club said Hirsh has a fractured fibula in his lower right leg. He will be re-evaluated Thursday.
