What the hell is going on here?

Scene from the film Mac & Me, in which an impromptu dance-off takes place at a McDonald’s for no particular reason. One of the strangest product placements in film history.

Is anyone familiar with this movie? It’s so bizarre.

    HA! This film came out when I was in the fifth grade. It was ENTIRELY product-placement based. In fact, the alien in the teddy bear suit is from a sentient Martian species that “survives” on the Red Planet by using straws to drink a sugar water that lies just below the surface of the planet. Guess what? That sugar water tastes JUST like Pepsi (or Coke, can’t remember which one), and that’s what the creature lives off on Earth.
