Kobe Bryant vs. Tony Parker: Who Rocks the Mic Better?

While I’m not much of an NBA fan and can’t drop any blogger wit or insight into the Western Conference Finals, I did uncover this tiggle bitty of relevant information.
Kobe Bryant, apparently inspired by Deion Sanders’ 1994 album Prime Time, recorded his own album in 1999. Not surprisingly, his label never released the project after hearing the lead single, K.O.B.E., which featured the Rihanna of 1999, Tyra Banks. Take a listen:
Tony Parker made headlines earlier this year when he dropped his French rap album. French rap album? While it annoys me that celebrities aren’t satisfied being famous in just one industry (see: Scarlett Johansson), Parker did it right. He released an album in a language that none of the fans from his “real” occupation (athlete in America) would understand (French). This enables him to hide his lyrical and flowical (?) shortcomings behind funny sounding words and pop-production. I’ve developed a theory on this called the Tony Parker Crossover Strategy (TPCS), which I’ll detail in a future post.
Overall, Tony Parker clearly has the upper hand musically, but at least Kobe’s wife doesn’t tell the world he sucks in bed.
