Top 7 Sports Meltdowns Caught On Tape

Bill O’Reilly and Casey Kasem’s legendary on-air, profanity-laced rants inspired me to find other celebrity breakdowns that were recorded. Not surprisingly, the best of the bunch are all sports related. Here they are (all NSFW language):

Honorable Mention
This list wouldn’t be complete if these weren’t included, but they aren’t juicy enough to get a #.

#7 - The Bears were just what Dennis Green thought they’d be
No description needed here, you’ve seen this one.

#6 - Sparky Anderson tells writers to “take it and stick it in their f’n ass”
Sparky was not happy with something that the Detroit media wrote about him and his managing. Note: This is not the last baseball manager on this list that will use the word “cocksucker.”

#5 - Don’t ask Hal McRae “stupid ass questions”
During a post game interview in 1993, some reporter set McRae off by asking if he had considered a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the 2nd inning. I think he was referring to George Brett, but regardless the reaction is priceless. Too bad YouTube wasn’t around in 1993.

#4 - Lee Elia thinks all Cubs fans are jobless sh!theads
This “off the record” tirade by the Cubs Manager in 1983 was secretly recorded by a member of the press. Elia was heated after a home loss that included one too many boos from the “fans” at Wrigley Field. Truly an example of a manager standing up for his players.

#3 - Todd Stottlemyre absolutely loses it after a game
I’m gonna guess he had a bad outing before this interview.

#2 - John Chaney nearly kicks John Calipari’s ass
I’m not sure what they were arguing about, but Chaney is fired up and legitimately scares Calipari as he storms over to beat him up. After being restrained, Chaney gets in a few good verbal threats.

#1 - Earl Weaver not exactly open to fan comments
This clip is so good it’s hard to believe it’s real. It’s from a “Manager’s Corner” radio segment where the Baltimore Oriole’s manager (late 70’s) responds to questions from the fans. Who wouldn’t want to have a beer with old Earl after listening to this?
