Alan Heuss was sitting in his BMW when a gun was shoved in his face and he was forced out of his car, sans his cash and cell phone. Pissed off but happy to be alive, Heuss then filed a police report and vented to a friend who came up with a genius idea:

He’ll (friend) send a text message to Heuss’ phone, pretending like he thought Heuss still had it. Better yet, the message will be about having hot chicks and drugs.

Results? The bad guys took the bait.

“Very early in the morning they gave him the address where they were,” Heuss said. “They were expecting this hot chick to arrive with drugs, and Columbus police officers arrived instead.”

Three men were caught red-handed in the stolen vehicle. Heuss said he expected to get his vehicle out of the impound lot on Friday.

You don’t get much dumber than that.
