the answer is No. There are no excellent female comedians. There are decent female comedians, but I assure you that if you line up the top 100 male and top 100 female comedians, you will find that the male comedians are more accessible to both men and women, while the female comedians tend to provide humor focused on a female audience. I’m not against this, because the market is there and deserves attention, but the better comics are universally appreciated. I’m not saying these are actually the best performers, just that the best are not women. For example, he included Dane Cook, a great performer who also happens to be a horrible comedian. He neglected to include Richard Pryor, Sam Kinison, and Bill Hicks, who I would list as three of America’s top comics of all time.
