Whether or not you can stand Ashton Kutcher, Punk’d is a show that had some great moments.  When the cast was led by Dax, Al, and then BJ (now on The Office), the show was Sunday night must-see-TV.  Then they started to run out of decent ideas and even big budget pranks weren’t that funny.  That said, here are my picks for the Top 10 Pranks On Punk’d:

Note:  Thanks to MTV for being Web2.0-retarded and removing most of their videos from sites like YouTube and MySpace, only to have their on-site embeddable players not work.  That’s why for some pranks I had to link to MTV for you to see the video.

#10 – Zach Braff – Kicking a kid’s ass

Braff and Scrubs co-star Donald Faison went to buy some booze at a liquor store, where some kids asked them to make a purchase for them.  Braff refused, and then walked away from the kids in the parking lot.  When he came out of the store, he found the kids spray painting his brand new Porsche.

“They choreographed the whole thing and I wasn’t supposed to catch the kid, but I caught him… and I’m not a big fighter or anything, but, with the adrenaline and everything, I just started pummeling him.

“I didn’t know and it was so dark… (but) part of the punking was that it was, like, a 12-year-old.

“It turns out it was fake spray paint. They edited (the fight) out, because apparently you’re not supposed to punch people on Punk’d.”

There’s no video of this online, so it’s #10 because of potential awesomeness.

#9 – Ryan Pinkston – Harrassing celebrities on the red carpet

Ryan Pinkston plays an unassuming and cute kid looking for an interview on the red carpet.  Once the conversation begins, he puts celebrities in awkward situations and spits out things they wouldn’t expect from a kid.

#8 – Kanye West – Music video shut down

The LA Film Commission shows up to Kanye’s video shoot for ‘Jesus Walks’ and shut it down since he didn’t have a permit.  When they attempt to take the film that had been shot, Kanye screams “I paid for this film” and tries to make a getaway with it in a van.  Even 5 years ago there was still no doubt who Kanye loved the most, himself.

#7 – Jessica Alba – Harrassed by a naked shopper

“Euro” Dax flops around a store naked and makes Jessica Alba uncomfortable as she tries on skimpy clothes.  Watch as Jessica’s inner ghetto diva comes out the more Dax pushes her.

#6 – Elijah Wood – Dumpster explosion

Elijah throws out a can that has a cigarette in it into a dumpster, causing a ridiculous explosion.  Elijah comes off as a truly nice guy, a Punk’d rarity.

#5 – Dax and Al Play Valets

In one of my favorite episodes, Dax and Al play the role of valets outside of an LA restaurant.  They claim to be selecting people at random for field sobriety tests,  and the results are hilarious.  I love when the Russian chick calls her mom and Al asks her to stop speaking code.  Fast forward to the 16 minute mark in the video below or view it here.

#4 – Wilmer Valderrama – SUV destroyed by an angry dude

Ashton setup That 70’s Show co-star Wilmer Valderrama by initally planting the story that he’d hooked up with some guy’s girlfriend and he was out to get him.  When they walk out of their restaurant one afternoon, that guy (Al) is beating what he thinks is Ashton’s SUV.  Turns out it’s Wilmer’s and his car is his most prized possession.  The look on his face and speechless reaction are priceless.  Watch it here.

#3 – Hilary Duff – Driver’s test fiasco

Duff thinks she’s just taking her driver’s license test, but instructor BJ takes her on a whirlwind ride through LA that includes a fight and getting the test car stolen.  Ultimately I think she learned a lesson on wearing heels while driving.   Check it out here.

#2 – Mya meets her biggest fan

BJ plays a man that donates $50,000 to charity in order to spend the day with the woman he worships, Mya.  He really makes her uncomfortable as he professes his love, shows her his Mya shrine, and proposes.

#1 – Justin Timberlake gets his stuff repossessed

In the episode that kicked off the series, the fictitious Tax Enforcement Agency informs Timberlake that he owes $900,000 in back taxes.  Because of this, they must repossess his belongings and put them up for sale at public auction.  Dax’s performance as lead agent is incredible and probably the best of all Punk’ds.  For what it’s worth, Timberlake later admitted to being stoned during the whole thing.  Fast forward to the 7:40 mark in this video:
