The contest does not have any initial rounds, all girls who enter take part in the final.

Given that they pay the participants for taking part, and it is apparently a lot of fun (chance to do things – while being filmed etc) a number of girls will enter without thought of winning, just for the experience etc.

Gibraltar is a small country, population just over 30,000. Therefore when you consider people who are willing to take part in this kind of thing, the numbers are always small. Therefore I think the 6 finalists bit is probably confusion – I think they were the 6 original entrants, then more signed up to take part just as the signup phase closed.

Alternatively these are the people who were voted things by the girls themselves – e.g. Miss Personality, Miss Friendship, etc. She could easily have been one of these….
