1) Aerosmith is super old, but apparently Steven Tyler has recovered from falling off a stage at a recent concert. Steven Tyler = Brett Favre of rock.

2) Instead of complaining about not winning an award for himself, this year Kanye rushed the stage to steal Taylor Swift’s thunder for beating Beyonce in the Best Female Video category. He and his creepy girlfriend need to go away.

3) Megan Fox is still a fame whore. In a related story, check this out.

4) Green Day is back. I’m thinking it might be a sign that I’m too old for the VMAs given that I remember when they came around the first time.

5) Everything about Lady Gaga scares the shit out of me. Including, but not limited to:

• Tonight’s bloody performance.
• The red lace she wore all over her face.
• The white wreath of thorns she wore around her head.
• Her complete disdain for pants.

6) “New Moon” trailer revealed. I could pretend as if I don’t care and that those that do are lame. But the truth is I already saw the new trailer because I found it online yesterday. Kristen & Robert are totally together. Squeal!

7) Russell Brand is still not funny and I do not get why they asked him back.

Pink performed upside down on a trapeze with a Lil Kim sticker on one boob. It was impressive.

9) Jenny from the Block had to give an award to Slim Shady (I didn’t even realize he came back). Apparently there is no love lost there.

10) Beyone & Jay Z win couple of the evening for the following:

• Her ability to reinvent a song we’ve all heard 4,239 times.
• She gave Taylor her moment back.
• Jay Z. He’s just a badass. And he gave B a shout out.

Commercial Break Observations:

1) Who picks the music for movie trailers and are they related to someone in The Fray?

2) The team putting “The Hills” promo piece together should be rewarded. It almost looks like something happens.

3) I don’t know if you’ve heard, but they’ve done a remake of “Fame”.
