ITS BACK! Sorry for disappearing, but someones gotta drink their paychecks away, and we know its not you!

Movie out on DVD this week: The Break Up

This one was not as good as I expected, but still made me laugh at the thought of two people breaking up but loving their apt. so much they still live together. The weird part for me is that something like that would actually happen, in New York. Thankfully Vince Vaughn is a cool guy and now almost insists any movies he will do have Chicago as a key element of the film. All in all, it was entertaining, and it has my favorite TV Detective, Robert Goren of Law and order:CI, as Vince Vaughn’s straight edge brother (Played by Vincent D’Onofrio).

Movie you should see soon: Running With Scissors
The story follows a poet who ends up divorced and forces her 12-year-old son to live with an unusual psychiatrist and his off the wall family. This film reminds me of Royal Tennebaums from the look of it, which means it will be very smart and very funny. Plus I love Brian Cox as the shrink who tries to run the nutty family.

Movie you should keep your eyes open for in the future: The Good German

Some may hate to admit it, but Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney are good at what they do. This story has nothing to do with stealing cash from Vegas, but still looks to be extremely entertaining. Set post WWII it focuses on an American getting all tangled up in someone elses’ business. And this is after the war… Embeded trailer coming soon. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thegoodgerman/

Man I cant wait for ‘The Departed’, moving on…

Movie out on DVD this week: United 93

The story of the passengers on that fourth plane from 9/11. Nough said.

Movie you should see soon: Hollywoodland

Based on the true story of George Reeves, AKA Superman, and how he became depressed over his fame. In 1959, Reeves was found dead in the bedroom of his home and it was claimed a suicide, but that is questioned when Reeves’ long-time affair with the wife of a studio president is brought to Adrien Brody’s attention. He thens begins to dig deeper into the death as a possible murder…

Movie you should keep your eyes open for in the future: Bobby

This is the story of the assassination of U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, you know, JFK’s brother. It is possibly the weirdest cast I’ve seen, ever. This odd collection of actors plays 22 people who were at the Ambassador Hotel where Bobby was killed.

Well I’m a day late again, but not a dollar short….

Movie out on DVD this week: Arrested Development: Season 3
Yes, this was the best show on TV you DID NOT watch. And because of people like you, they took it off the air for people like me. Yes, I am bitter and pissed, ’cause its the final countdown…

Movie you should see soon: Beerfest
From the guys who brought you Club Dread… who am I kidding, it’s the SUPER TROOPERS! It looks like the Broken Lizard team might be back on point with this one. Just a good ol’ boys movie.

Movie you should keep your eyes open for in the future: A Good Year
Russell Crowe plays a big shot from London who suddenly has come across his uncle’s vineyard, but when he goes to see it, he meets a sexy American who claims that the land is hers. It’s Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott’s first collabo since Gladiator, and it looks to be a good one. While it doesn’t have sword fights and tigers, it does have Albert Finney who I have missed since the wonderful ‘Big Fish’. As excited as I am for Good Year, I’m even more exiceted for Scott and Crowe’s next project, ‘American Gangster’ (Common, Russell Crowe, RZA, T.I., Denzel Washington, John Hawkes).

I know a lot of you will run off and see the snakes on the motha f*#kin plane this week, but just think, if you’re not allowed to have shampoo on a plane, why would they let you bring a bunch of snakes???

Movie out on DVD this week: V for Vendetta
There seems to be nothing that good out this week, so I’ll go for a disc I haven’t gotten around to seeing, but will soon. This comes form the Matrix guys so I’m sure it will have some great effects, but besides that it has a really interesting view, playing the what if Germany won WWII card. Plus my smarter than me, Jewish, bald girlfriend is in this flick. Yes I love Natalie.

Movie you should see soon: The Illusionist
Because it’s not Snakes on a Plane. Ed Norton plays a man using his ‘magic hands’ to win over a woman he can’t have back in the day. I have Ed Norton in my top ten of all time, so see this.

Movie you should keep your eyes open for in the future: Stranger Than Fiction
Will Ferrell is an ordinary man going about his life until he hears a voice that seems to know him. The narration follows him everywhere, but no one else can hear it, making for some funny moments. Dustin Hoffman is there to help figure it all out plus BUSTER (Tony Hale)!! I have a voice in my head too sometimes, but it doesn’t have a better vocabulary than me. Just a real original idea.

After a week away on business, we’re back to what we love best…

Movie out on DVD this week: Brick
Yes, it is the guy from 3rd Rock from the Sun as the lead who conducts an investigation at his high school after the girl he loves turns up dead. I have not seen this movie, but have heard enough good things about it to warrant me picking it up. Word is you must listen carefully to make it all make sense, and make sure you keep your eye out for the director, Rian Johnson, who seems to be quite the up and comer. If paying attention in movies isn’t your thing, check out Inside Man, also out this week.

Movie you should see soon: World Trade Center
Because you have to. It’s our generation’s defining moment, told by one of the greatest, Oliver Stone.

Movie to mark on your calendar: School For Scoundrels
Oh man. Todd Philips directs (Old School), Billy Bob (The Best Flight Controller ever), and Jon Heder (Napoleon) in this one. I’m not even gonna guess how Philips makes his cameo this time (I’m here for the gangbang?)

Old movie out on DVD this week: Pink Floyd – The Pulse
Everyone needs a good concert DVD to wake the neighbors at 4am.

Movie you should see soon: Little Miss Sunshine
If it’s opening in your area, check it out. With this cast, you know it’s gonna be hilarious and actually have real characters. Steve Carrell is gay, you just can go wrong…

Movie you should keep your eyes open for in the future: Employee of the Month
Yes, I realize that Jessica Simpson is in it, but she will be balanced by the ranting of Dane Cook and Dax. “This is an ‘81 Honda!”
